Our Story

The Background

Restoration Lands is the owner and developer of an extremely valuable and underutilized 450,000 sq.’ building and zoned industrial site in the beautiful and booming Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. Restoration lands, formerly known as Owens Illinois- Consumers Glass Plant boasts over 91 acres of industrial I-2 zoned land, representing 54% of the serviced industrial land in the region. With some of the most significant on-site infrastructure in the BC interior, the existing amenities include on-site double railway spur, easy highway access, industrial grade electricity, water, and natural gas infrastructure provide a means for one of the most comprehensive Eco-Business parks ever envisioned in the country.

The Problem

Throughout the North Okanagan and across British Columbia, there is a shortage of serviced industrial and commercial land, which has been present since the 1980s. Due to zoning restrictions and the Agricultural Land Reserve there is no long-term solution to this issue. The lower mainland and Kelowna are facing a similar issue as industrial land is often in excess of $1.2 million per acre and therefore
unaffordable for many businesses.

Our Solution

Restoration Lands Inc. was created to respond to a void in the region, especially after the loss of over 350 of the highest paying jobs when the glass plant shut down due to international competition and protectionism. Restoration Lands brings a vision that restores hope and creates sustainable jobs, while stewarding an important and valuable land base and building asset. The Okanagan Eco Park is the perfect solution for the recommissioning of the building and the development and sale of 17 Industrial lots to value-add companies with synergistic and symbiotic relationships and a focus on Jobs, innovation and environmental sustainability. These companies may include agricultural, value-add lumber and wood products, manufacturing, green industrial, bio-chemical, food processing, and service industries. With access to all of the infrastructure and transport logistics, all of these companies can benefit and cooperate with each other and the surrounding communities to share resources thereby increasing efficiency, profitability, and ensuring environmental sustainability.
